Volunteers do not necessarily have the time, they just have the heart. You make a living by what you get. You make a life by what you give. Volunteers are the only human beings on the face of the earth who reflect this nation's compassion, unselfish caring, patience, and just plain loving one another.
We provide wrap-around services to include One-on-one mentoring and tutoring; home and school visits; provide food, clothing, and financial assistance to participants and their families who demonstrate a need; employability skills training to assist participants with preparing a resume, job application, interviewing, and how to stay employed and prepare for advancement opportunities. In addition, we have collaborative partners with who we refer our participants when they need services outside of our area of expertise.
We thank you in advance for your support! Your donation is appreciated and will be used to mentor and provide constructive activities for our at-risk youth.
You can donate by sending a check made payable to WUM, 823 W. Central Boulevard, Orlando, FL 32805, or call me at 407-770-7611, or click the link below.
Why is mentoring so important?
Mentoring is important because of the knowledge and skills students gain from mentors. Mentoring provides professional socialization and personal support to facilitate success in all areas of the participant’s life. Quality mentoring dramatically enhances participants' chances for success.
