Our mission is to help socially, and economically at-risk youth become tomorrow's leaders within the City of Orlando and Orange County School Districts. Many come from single-parent and low-income families with a history of welfare dependence. Most are first-time generation high school graduates and first-generation college entrants.
We match our youth with professional adult mentors who will provide them with continuous guidance, leadership, and coaching.
WUM was established in 2007 with a mission to help socially and economically at-risk youth become tomorrow’s leaders through education and mentoring services. WUM provides services to at-risk youth between the ages of 6 – 17 and youth that are in the Juvenile Justice System residing in Orange County and surrounding communities.
WUM has provided mentoring services to over 1,000 at-risk youth and many have graduated from high school, enrolled in college, enlisted in the military or have become employed and are now a productive citizen within the community.
